The villages just north of Saffron Walden, Great and Little Chesterford across the Essex side and Linton, Sawston and Duxford across the Cambridgeshire border, are a short drive from our office. Here to Care supports older and disabled adults throughout these villages to keep living independently at home.

A local team on your doorstep

Because we are based in Saffron Walden, our carers can reach the Chesterfords, Linton, Sawston and Duxford quickly and reliably. We work hard to keep the same small team visiting each person, so carers get to know you and your routine.

How we can help

  • Personal care: washing, bathing, dressing, getting up and going to bed, toileting and continence care.
  • Medication: reminders and support.
  • Dementia care: calm, consistent support built around familiar routines.
  • Companionship and home help: meals, shopping, laundry, light housework, conversation and outings.
  • End of life care: comfort and dignity at home.

Visits start from half an hour, seven days a week between 7am and 10pm.

Which council?

These villages sit on both sides of a county border, which can confuse things when arranging care:

  • Great and Little Chesterford are in Uttlesford, Essex: contact Essex County Council.
  • Linton, Sawston and Duxford are in South Cambridgeshire: contact Cambridgeshire County Council.

Staying connected

These are lively villages, with good local shops, pubs, churches and clubs. Our companionship visits can include a walk to the shops, a trip to a coffee morning, or help getting to appointments in Cambridge or Saffron Walden, so that needing a little help does not mean losing touch.
